The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environment Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Philippine Alliance for Recycling Materials Sustainability (PARMS) and the City Environment Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Paranaque City organizes the Annual Environment Summit 2019. This summit brings together both private and public sectors to help publicize and promote breakthroughs and advancements in environmental protection.
This event is composed of an exhibit on outstanding environmental practices and technologies, and a recognition ceremony for eco-champions from local government units.
The three-day activity held last September 3, 4 & 5 at SM BF Paranaque City. There are discussions on Solid Waste Management, presentation of private sector best practices on handling waste, Local Government Unit Best Practices in implementing SWM and an exhibit featuring recovery and recycling of non-traditional waste.
Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS) members presented their best practices on the whole second day of the event. The Philippine Plastics Industry Association enthusiastically participates annually in this event by providing forums on plastic recovery and recycling. Simultaneous training on eco brick making, sando bag crochet, zest O paso, and laminates-turned bags was conducted in the PPIA booth provided by the bureau.
