European Week for Waste Reduction is a yearly initiative co-financed by the European Commission’s LIFE+ programme since 2009, aiming to promote the implementation of awareness-raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management during a single week.
The project encourages a wide range of audiences (public authorities, private companies, civil society as well as citizens themselves) to get involved in actions related to sustainable resource and waste management.
By committing themselves through www.ewwrcommitment.eu, citizens all around the world can contribute to reducing the amount of waste that is overwhelming for our environment.
The Thematic Focus for 2017 is one of the easiest but very important ways to prevent waste: reuse with a twist of repair! Behind this topic is the need to shift from a throw-away attitude towards more appreciation for products and the resources used.
