In 2015, the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) engaged a commercial fishery on one of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie, to explore the types of plastics being generated and test collection channels. There are plans to spread lessons learned from the 2015 pilot during a larger project in 2016.
