The MPMA-Dow-Thong Guan Beach Cleanup was held on 15 September 2018 at Monkey Beach, Penang in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup Day. A total of 80 participants from Dow, Thong Guan and MPMA had successfully collected more than 900kg of waste in which the main composition are plastic bottles, plastic containers, metal and general waste. To ensure the sustainability of the beach cleanup effort, 24 waste bins were donated and installed along the hawker area on the beach.
