IMSA is forming a broad coalition whose goal is to assess solutions for plastics litter in the North Sea which would contribute to tackling marine litter globally. The coalition intends to review research gaps, waste management practices, business models and consumer behavioural patterns.
IMSA Amsterdam is an independent think tank, consultancy and research firm committed to the environment, sustainability and innovation. It has published a report entitled “Plastics do not belong in the ocean” which provides an up-to-date, knowledge-based analysis of the problem of plastic marine litter in terms of cause, effect and potential solutions, both worldwide and specifically for the North and Wadden Seas.
PlasticsEurope is one of the partners co-financing this 2 years activity, starting at then end of 2012.
